Volunteer Development

We are pleased to announce that SASS has received funding from the WCVA Volunteering Wales Grant, funded by the Welsh Government, to further develop of our volunteer programme.

This funding will enable us to bring a Volunteer Development Worker into our SASS team. They will play a vital role in strengthening and growing our volunteer team. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at SASS, helping us to provide essential support, activities.   It’s also important to further develop the skills and confidence of current volunteers through training and additional qualifications.

At SASS, our work is guided by our key aims: Welcome, Welfare, Wellbeing and Empowerment.  SASS is grateful for this vital funding that will enable us to strengthen the volunteer support that achieve these aims.  The dedicated Volunteer Development Worker will lead, coordinate, deliver and expand training and opportunities for volunteers.   It will help to ensure volunteers feel confident, valued and recognise that they are making a meaningful and important contribution to meeting the needs of individuals and families.

Thank you to Volunteering Wales for the funding that will enable SASS to continue to provide a welcoming community for people seeking sanctuary in Swansea.
