Role Overview
The Welcome to Play provision at SASS provides a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children during our community drop-ins. Volunteers help to assist in activities, ensuring that children feel welcomed and included. No previous experience is necessary—your team leader will guide you in supporting different activities.
This role is vital to the success of our drop-ins, as it allows parents some much-needed respite and the opportunity to participate in English lessons and other activities. By engaging children in structured play, we enable their parents to focus on their own development and well-being.

Volunteer Inductions
All new volunteers are invited to attend an induction session where they will learn about SASS, our mission, and key facts about the UK asylum system. The session also provides an overview of the different volunteer roles available, helping new volunteers find a role that best suits their skills and interests.
Volunteer Wellbeing & Feedback Sessions
To ensure volunteers feel supported and valued, we hold periodic wellbeing sessions where volunteers can discuss their experiences, provide feedback, and explore new opportunities within SASS. These sessions help us improve our work while creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all volunteers.
